To encourage the pursuit of knowledge in medicine, nursing, public health, nutrition, and exercise science, HairWiki is offering a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 for two students in post-secondary education (including medical school). HairWiki is specifically interested in providing scholarships to those with a passion for protecting America’s future generations from hair loss problems, although we will consider applications from students pursuing all areas of healthcare.

 

The Purpose of HairWiki

HairWiki is a collaboration of well-respected physicians and internationally known scientists dedicated to educating the public about hair loss and general health and wellness. HairWiki empowers subscribers to take control of their health by providing access to free online resources such as high-quality medical articles, patient narratives, and physician Q&A.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the HairWiki Scholarship, you must be:

  • Interested in the study of health or the pursuit of a career in the healthcare industry.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate, graduate, or medical degree (Two-year degrees are eligible.)  You must be accepted to claim the scholarship, but you can apply before acceptance.  If not yet accepted, list the school where you think you are most likely to attend in 2018.
  • A current/future resident of the United States

How to Apply

The application process is simple…accurately complete the application form below.

Applicants must also submit a link of their YouTube video explaining:

  • Why do you want to study in the applied college OR why are you studying in the said college?
  • Why do you want the scholarship provided by Hairwiki.org?

in 5 minutes or less. Video submissions exceeding 5 minutes will not be considered. Videos should be set to PUBLIC. In addition, you should put our website link in the description of your video and share it via social media (Facebook & Twitter only). This is intended to be a challenging and thought provoking exercise and the criteria for choosing the winning applicant(s) will be based on the quality & content of the video (80%) and number of social media shares (20%). The deadline for submissions is February 15, 2018.

Selection Criteria

The following criteria will be taken into account when considering all applications:

-Grammatical errors.-Resource cited page.

-Resource cited page.

-Plagiarism. Any Plagiarism will result in automatic application termination 

-Accurately followed the application process directions.

-How interesting and helpful your article is.

-GPA (must be 2.5 or higher).

 

How the winner is chosen/notified and rewarded

After careful and thorough review of all applications, winners will be chosen by the HairWiki team.

The winner will be notified by the email from which they submit the scholarship application.

The scholarship check will be sent directly to the college or university of the recipient.

 

Terms and Conditions

– HairWiki.org WILL NOT give out or use your private information for anything other than this scholarship application submission

– One application per student.

– Your article will be checked for plagiarism. Make sure to include your sources at the bottom.

– Employees of HairWiki.org and their immediate relatives are not eligible.

–HairWiki.org reserves the right to verify all information including school enrollment status.

– All taxes are solely the responsibility of the contest winner.

– To enter, you must submit a complete scholarship application via email to scholarship[at]hairwiki.org no later than the deadline listed above. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

– All applications become the property of HairWiki.org and will not be returned. HairWiki.org is not responsible for any late or unintelligible entries.

– By submitting your essay with your scholarship application, you give HairWiki.org unlimited licensing rights to parts or all of your article. The author will be given credit if their essay is used in any way.
